ABOUT MOLAD
OUR VISION AND MISSION
MOLAD was established in 2012 by Di and Terry Jackson, as a small flexible family-owned business, to provide traditional first aid training and emergency risk management services. Di has a wealth of experience as a nurse, police officer and security officer, whilst Terry has over 40 years in the emergency services, including 34 in the fire service, in various roles including attaining the rank of Superintendent and being awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal in 2010. Teaching from this real-life experience is the core pillar upon which the business was founded. Mental health and wellness have always been important to MOLAD even reaching back as far as 1987 where Di assisted in the implementation of the Family Support Program, as part of the Peer Support Program, with the WA Fire and Rescue Service.
The company has now shifted its primary focus to deliver Mental Health First Aid, whilst maintaining that core pillar of teaching through real-life experience. Chris (son of Di and Terry) now delivers accredited MHFA Australia courses, using his lived experience with mental illness as foundation to his facilitation style.

HARNESS THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO SAVE A LIFE.

Chris Jackson
ABOUT CHRIS
I am now diagnosed with Bipolar II and my turbulent journey puts me in a position where I can understand what it is like to be on the receiving end of these MHFA conversations. I have experienced different medications, hospitalisations, and a variety of therapies and treatments. My lived experience is woven into my facilitation style as it is woven into me.
I have been involved in some of the toughest MHFA crisis situations, volunteering on the phones as a telephone crisis supporter for Lifeline, where at any moment you can be put in a position to save someone’s life with nothing but your voice. Volunteering in the Aboriginal community with the highest suicides rates in Australia, to try and intervene with the youth and break the cycle was extremely rewarding but also confronting. I have also lived in my van travelling around Australia, whilst blogging and advocating for mental health.
I am now pursuing my true passion – education. I have a Cert IV in Training and Education and have been teaching traditional first aid and CPR. I am studying a Master of Teaching with the eventual goal of teaching in a high school with at-risk students. However, my true passion is Mental Health First Aid. It is something I truly believe can save lives.
