STANDARD MHFA

The 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches any adult (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. Learn about the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in adults, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.

We are not currently advertising any Standard Mental Health First Aid courses to the public.

YOUTH MHFA

The 14-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid course teaches adults to support young people who are experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. It is suitable for school staff, support workers, parents, and other adults working with young people. Flexible delivery options including a blended face-to-face option are available for workplaces.

We are not currently advertising any Youth Mental Health First Aid courses to the public.

COURSE DETAILS

FORMAT

The ‘Standard Mental Health First Aid for Adults’ is a comprehensive 12-hour face-to-face course split into two 6-hour days, plus breaks. Each day runs from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

RESOURCES

Course participants receive a physical copy of the Standard Mental Health First Aid manual and a digital certificate of completion.

ACCREDITATION

A 3 year accreditation is obtained after successfully completing a short quiz. The MHFA accreditation demonstrates that an individual has the skills and knowledge to provide Mental Health First Aid.

PRICE

The Standard MHFA and Youth MHFA, for an individual is $220 (inc. GST) per person.

DISCLAIMER

Public courses require a minimum of six participants. MOLAD retains the right to cancel or postpone courses if this minimum is not met. In this event participants will be offered a position on a future course or a full refund.
